Golf - Kintyre Course - Hole 18 Perfect Play

Kintyre Championship Course

Hole 18 - Perfect Play Explained

018 kintyre
The last hole on The Kintyre is a long par 5 dog leg from right to left. This strategic golf hole starts with a tee shot that should be hit down the left hand side of the fairway avoiding the two fairway bunkers on the right and gorse on the left. There are eleven bunkers in total on this hole and it is important not to visit any of them. Only the very longest of players will stand a chance of attempting to reach this green in two. The perfect lay up, from a good drive, would be with a long iron down the right hand side of the fairway. This would give you a great angle to play your third shot onto the heat of the green. The green itself is raised and has many slopes and mounds that can throw approach shots off to either side leaving a difficult drip shot back onto the green. Any putt on this green is a challenge, no matter how small, but again the best chance of holing a birdie or par putt is from below the hole. The 18th hole is a challenging end to what is a challenging golf course.
